Some of you may have heard of
Myshella, less than some had the privilege to have fought and competed against her online from UO onwards and even less had the honour to game and fight alongside her.
Recently Simone succumbed to pneumonia and passed away...I've just heard the news and I still can't believe it. For someone that I've never met yet seems like I've known for years...I'm at a complete shock and dismay. A person that I've always regarded with fascination due to her remarkable ability to grasp the strategical importance of logistics, the organizational know-how that a very few possessed in these games.
As I've said to her a few years back when she gave me tactical help from Onyxia to Black Wing Lair...her, I owe, can call me friend anytime. I guess tonight is the perfect time to admit full disclosure that when I played WoW, she was the ace in the hole to our success. My intelligence gathering was pretty much all hers as she took all the necessary time(and staying up late) to exchange valuable info that helped not so much our rise and be successful in that game but...our very survival. A member that we never had and a friend that I never had during the most darkest of days gaming in WoW.
Thank you Simone for being there and I will never forget and you will always be remembered.
My regrets to Mors, Bones and all Core SIN members, we stand in sorrow along side you all.
All members and non members that read this that have known and heard of her, I encourage you all to leave your condolences on this thread:
http://www.afraidyet.net/forums/news/90766-simone.htmlIt's also my last request as a Guild Leader as most of you already know that I won't lead nor play anymore and haven't for close to two years.

WARHAMMER SERVERS OFFLINE ALL DAY TODAY
Game Update 1.3.1 8/18/2009
The day of invasion is at hand! Capital city invasions are more exciting than ever, with a simplified and accessible new flow of invasion states, interface improvements, Public Quest upgrades, and more!

Hey Everyone,
It’s that time again for me to share my thoughts on WAR. I hope you’ve been enjoying your summer and the improvements we introduced in 1.3.0b last month. Draw your weapons and get ready for another round of action-packed goodness with our upcoming 1.3.1 patch, aka City Invasion.
One of the biggest enhancements going into this patch is the new approach we have made with our end-game city siege experience. After months of feedback from you, the players, and our own personal experience playing the game, we realized we needed to step back and reevaluate the city siege mechanic from beginning to end. Specifically, how can we make the city siege experience something players will strive for? How can we reinforce RvR in the endgame and not RvE?
Now, before diving too deep into the changes we made, I want everyone to know this is really just step one. We simplified the flow, removed barriers, and most importantly refocused the gameplay on killing your opponents. We set up the city end-game experience so we could easily expand it down the road to make them even more epic.
So, what exactly changed?
Right off the bat, once a capital city becomes contested and you and your Realm start to flood into the streets looking for your enemies, you’ll notice the new main city PQ. Now, each side will be in a race to see who can get to 1,000 Victory Points first. How do you gain Victory Points? It’s easy—simply kill your opponents and hold any of the three Battlefield Objectives scattered across the city. Winners will then push the PQ to Stage 2 and the race begins again, but this time with a twist. The Hero-con encounter will appear like before, but now players can complete the main city PQ by dominating their enemies. In an instance that has lots of enemies? Kill them to win. In an instance that has no opposition? Take out the Hero General and his guards to complete the PQ to help your Realm capture or reclaim the city. The option is yours, but now there is no PvE content holding you back from razing your enemies’ capital city and getting your shot at their fearless leader.
Now, should the city be pushed from contested to the next stage, several new things will occur. First, players will notice that there is no longer a pillage stage. The city will now progress from contested straight to captured. Second, the Warlord PQs open up, which are now balanced for a single warband to complete. Also, it’s worth noting that the Warlord PQs are now time-stamped and are open the whole time the city is in a captured state. Gone are the days of the one-hour time window to experience this content! Second, the King instance is immediately available! It is no longer gated by the completion of the Warlord PQs, but be warned—this encounter is still one of the most challenging in the game. Without proper gear and wards, most players won’t stand a chance.
Lastly, city defenders are never kicked out of their city during an assault! The Tier 4 campaign may be in lockdown, but the fight will carry on for 18 hours as attackers continue to try and hold the city to allow their Realm-mates enough time to complete the Warlord and King encounters. Defenders, on the other hand, will be fighting back to complete the capital city PQ to push their enemies back out of their city. For every time the defenders complete the capital city PQ, the 18-hour timer will decrease by 30 minutes, giving the defenders the opportunity to push out their enemies and reset the Tier 4 campaign at their own will.
Alright, enough about city siege—let’s talk about open-field RvR! In the last patch, we adjusted how we were incentivizing players to fight in the RvR campaign by immensely increasing XP and RP rewards around Keeps and Battlefield Objectives. This time we’re adding a little more spice into the RvR lakes with the introduction of a second ramp to all Keeps found in Tiers 2 through 4. These ramps help widen the play space and give players new tactics to leverage in both offensive and defensive positions. On top of that, we’ve added additional icons and timers to the map to better communicate the current status of the RvR campaign and specific objectives. Now, players will clearly know if a Battlefield Objective is dominated, defended, or both. In addition, players will see the timer status of city stages. All this will be viewable, at a glance, from your map screen or mini RvR tracker.
In my last letter, I mentioned social improvements and we have a dedicated team pushing forward with that initiative. Two items made it in for this patch, the Friends List and Summoning Stones, with plenty more to follow.
The Friends List is much like what you would expect from any Instant Messenger window. It gives you quick access to your friends and even suggests new friends based upon your adventuring. This is just one step to helping bridge the gap between social relationships among our players.
The second item we have in place are the new Summoning Stones. These crafted items will allow players to summon group-mates to their location from almost anywhere in the world. (Of course, not into RvR lakes. No porting in reinforcements on your crumbling Keep before it’s taken over.)

So, I know you’ll enjoy those improvements, but what about bugs? What’s Mythic doing to fix the lingering bugs that some say we’re always too busy to address? Well, I’m happy to say that in this patch we’ve decided that, rather than rushing the Player Systems team, it would be better for them to catch their breath and just focus on bug fixes for 1.31. I’m not going to call out any specifics other than suggest you go take a look at our patch notes here to see all the great fixes they have in store for us.
And last but not least, what about 1.3.2?
Well, I’ll share a little bit with you, but please remember this may not be 100% in-place and ready for live in time. Stuff happens and we adjust as needed, but here are a few things the team is hard at work on.
1. Data has shown us not enough players have experienced a city assault. With the new improvements, we want to make sure that happens, so we’ve decided to decouple the Fortresses from the Tier 4 campaign. They still exist, so don’t worry—they are not disappearing, but they are also no longer required to capture in order to claim the pairing. We have other ideas for the Fortresses, but I would be showing our hand a little too early with those thoughts right now. =) It’s cool, trust me.
2. New User Journey Experience – New recruits come to WAR everyday and many of us roll alts from time to time, so we are taking a hard look at the beginning player experience and exploring how we can make that introduction experience to WAR even more memorable.
3. Apprentice/Hireling System – Wouldn’t it be cool if you could play with anyone at any time regardless of Rank? I think it would.

4. Continued Crowd Control balancing! In patch 1.3.0b you saw some of our first adjustments to Crowd Control, and in 1.3.2 you'll see the next steps as we begin approaching some CC abilities directly. These changes will help to continue shifting Crowd Control to be more strategic and purposeful on the battlefield.
5. The Daemon moon will rise.
Alright that’s a lot to take in, but before I head out I just wanted to say thank you to all of our players for helping us sculpt the world of Warhammer into what it is today. It’s hard to believe that in one month WAR will hit its 1-year anniversary! We’re excited and have a lot of fun events planned for the month, and one of the biggest Live Events we’ve made to date—The Wild Hunt—which boasts a new 6-man dungeon called The Hunters Vale, to help celebrate this great milestone. The Wild Hunt will usher in the new Live Event equip slot on all characters, and is something we plan to continue to leverage for many more Live Events to come. Oh, and before I forget, enjoy the new load times getting into the game. We went from 52 seconds to almost 20 seconds! That’s at least a few extra player kills for everyone a day.

I’ll see you in your city,
Jeff Skalski

(namely the mechanics).

"Old Emotions" of

The update you've all been waiting for, 1.0.6, is almost here! We wanted to thank everyone who tested and provided feedback on this update's content.
On Tuesday, 12/2/08 all servers will be brought offline to begin the update. North American servers will be brought down at 6:30AM EST with Oceanic servers to follow at 9:00AM EST.
This is our biggest update yet! It's chock-full of exciting career changes and heralds the debut of the highly anticipated Black Guard and Knight of the Blazing Sun careers. If you've finished the Heavy Metal event and have opened your Heavy Metal Chest, then you will be able to play a Black Guard and Knight of the Blazing Sun when this patch goes live (before anyone else!). For those of you who did not complete the Heavy Metal event, don't fret! You, too, will be able to play these two new careers starting next week.
This update is so massive that we needed to split the notes into two sections. So, without further ado, on with the notes! WAAAGH!!!

Folks,
Over the last few months I’ve spoken about our continued focus on improving our open RvR systems. While we have taken some major steps in the last month, we believe that there is much more we can do to encourage people to take part in oRvR throughout the entire evolution of their character(s). Over the next few months we have some very exciting changes and additions taking place. Please note that as always, this does not represent everything that either we are doing or thinking about doing, just what we, as of now, plan on adding to WAR.
We have a number of major initiatives planned for oRvR in WAR. Please keep in mind that these changes/systems apply to oRvR only and not to scenarios. This is not all we are working on but these do reflect the majority of oRvR additions that we are currently working on/planning for the next few months.
First, we have created an RvR Influence system. This system is designed to reward our oRvR players with lots of new stuff that you can only get through oRvR. This will be a complimentary system to our PQ Influence system. This system is already implemented in 1.1 and is scheduled to go LIVE along with that version in December.
Second, we want to improve the visibility that players have into oRvR and make it easier for players to get involved in the action quickly and easily. We have a number of wide-ranging changes going into our map and travel systems to allow players to better understand the state of oRvR in our game and also allow them to get to the action faster. We have already taken one step with putting a Rally Master in each Warcamp but we will also add the ability for people to have a second bind point to make it even easier for players to move around the maps. We will also make it easily for players to see where players from their Realm are engaging in oRvR, a Campaign HUD for all tiers and other improvements We will also improve Tier-wide messaging about what is going on in Battlefield Objectives and Keeps. Other additions include changes to the UI, in-game manual improvements, map enhancements, and a few other changes.
Third, we want to provide greater incentives to players to participate in oRvR. In order to accomplish this we will be adding additional layers to the questing system of oRvR including the addition of Keep Quests, “Daily Event Quests”, Chained RvR Missions, improve the initial Tome Unlocks and other oRvR-oriented Events. We will also improve our BO itemization. Our goal is to provide players with even more incentive for participating in oRvR than we have already.
Fourth, we want to encourage guilds to take and control keeps, and we will continue our work on adding better rewards for Guilds who own Keeps as well as the addition of a system of Keep upgrades. This system will be added to the game in several stages beginning in the late winter.
Finally, we will begin work on a global oRvR “Fame” system that will be tied directly to the Tome of Knowledge which will provide more rewards, titles, experience, etc. for participating and being successful in oRvR. This system will provide even more incentives for people to participate in oRvR than the current systems and one that fits nicely both with the ToK’s concept as “This is your life” as well as an additional advancement and reward system.
Please keep in mind that these additions are subject to change and given the nature of these changes/improvements, they will not go LIVE until we have thoroughly tested them. However, these are crucial improvements to WAR and are being treated as such by the team.
Finally, I want to close this out with a brief explanation about the role that we believe that oRvR should play in WAR. It’s really as simple as this, oRvR should be a major focus for leveling, item gain, etc. in WAR. Some of the systems are already in place and in Tier 4, oRvR is alive and well. On other Tiers, however, oRvR is not being engaged in as often as we had hoped when we launched WAR. Our goal is to ensure that oRvR is the place where players can level the fastest, get the best items and overall, have a great time while doing it. It is supposed to be riskier, more challenging but ultimately, more rewarding than any other place within WAR. What is outlined in this letter are some of the ways we plan on making this happen over the next few months and beyond.
As always, we thank you for your patronage and support. We won’t let you down.
Mark

Also, thanks to everyone who have and will be donating.
cheers!
After some initial confusion, make no doubt RC is here to play, and here to stay in AoC. Yes, its an official chapter. The chapter leaders are Pure (Sorrow) and MikeyDee. Our numbers keep growing, our recruitment is going well ingame and out. The troops are organized and moving ahead in leaps and bounds.
The concept of a potential merger was discussed, but the overwhelming membership opinion was that we wanted to stay purely as Red Cell and give this game our best efforts, and with Pure and Mikey running the show, it should turn out to be a darned good effort at that!
Anyone playing who doesnt have access to the private AoC boards should post in the access request forums.

We've currently got a crew going in AoC.
MikeyDee is handling most of the recruits, and old friends of the Guild are encouraged to message him to get things going.
Currently our roster playing the game with us is:
MikeyDee - Barbarian
PureSorrow - Assassin
Grimmace - Ranger
Kodiakash - Ranger
Arbahal - Necromancer
Dalix - Priest of Mitra
Tuul (Mortisrigor) - Barbarian
Glauc - Demonologist
Arox - Demonologist
ThaBeast - ???
Wrong - ???
So far that's the initial crew we have playing (sorry to anyone I missed). It's going pretty strong, and we're quietly starting to look at individuals to take into the Guild.
A few others have elected to go play in other Guilds.
More to come later this week as things stabilize and we get more in game!

In Darkfall arrows fly in a realistic arc and they leave a light tracer...This is real-time combat. Weapon range, weapon swing, they matter. Timing matters. You have special attacks. The location where you hit your opponent matters. Friendly fire is on. Collision detection is on. You can push people, you can box them in. You have more weapon choices than you can imagine. You have to lead the target with your ranged weapons. You aim your spells, you aim your attacks. You have mounted combat, naval combat, cannons, warhulks, hundreds of spells.

* Can be hired as a mercenary for either side for smaller guilds.
* Layered defenses (Outer, Inner Walls and HQ)
* One Siege Commander operates the weaponry
* 3-7 days protection after taking a keep
A lot more info, but also raises a lot more questions.
Shon Tsu has been appointed to the ranks of Guild Leadership effective immediately. He joins Undertaker, InvictusX, Stahler, PvN, and myself.
Shon Tsu joined our AC guild while we were still with HoS, in 2002. He soon rose to lead that chapter. After the breakoff in 2004, he became Red Cell's chapter leader until it closed. Since then he has been a leader and player in multiple FPS games, WoW, EQ2, and other games. He has also been sys-admin'ing this site since its inception.
There is noone better equipped to guide Red Cell into the next set of PvP challenges. And, hailing from Down Under, you can bet he'll always be up for a fight. Congratulations, Ben.
